Fueling Green Rural Growth

As the founder of INO-Biodiesel, Innocentia Mahlatse Mamaila is dedicated to producing and supplying certified clean fuel, specifically biodiesel. She is also recognized as an International Leadership Youth Climate Negotiator, demonstrating her commitment to global climate initiatives and sustainable practices.

INO-Biodiesel, established around 2020, is a renewable energy business that manufactures biodiesel from used cooking oil. This biodiesel serves as a renewable substitute for petroleum and is marketed to a range of industries including mining, farming, construction, logistics, and aviation. The company’s biodiesel is competitively priced, providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional fuels while supporting a cleaner environment. The success of INO-Biodiesel is a testament to Mamaila’s leadership and her breakthrough in the regulated petroleum and renewable energy sectors, addressing both environmental and social issues.

Mamaila’s dedication and the success of INO-Biodiesel have garnered significant recognition. The company has been a finalist in the 2023 Santam Women of the Future Awards and recognized as a top 10 innovation by GreenCape. INO-Biodiesel also received accolades from Standard Bank, Veuve Clicquot, and the Mail and Guardian awards. The business has secured funding from various sources, including the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Nomzamo Mbatha Lighthouse and Hollywood Foundation, Esther’s Preparation Room Global, and the Women’s Empowerment Network of South Africa. As INO-Biodiesel continues to grow, Mahlatse aims to bring in additional management capacity to scale the business and meet funders’ expectations.
